Frida Kahlo was an incredibly amazing woman. She endured more in her short life than most people will ever have to face. She had a gift for communicating through painting and she put her emotions into her flamboyant art. Without any possible doubt, Frida was an inspiration and example of strength.

so I live in Russia and there we don’t have separate high schools and middle schools as in America and everybody just studies in one big school. So I am an eight grader and this 11grader asked me out and I really liked him and it was like the dream of my life for him to ask me out and so I told my mom about that and she said "no way! are you crazy? you ain’t going no where with an 11 grader! what if he rapes you or something" but I am 1000 percent sure that he’s a good guy and he’d never think of doing something like that so I told her that and she said that he only "seems" like a good guy. Its really hard to convince her but I cant date him unless my mom agrees so I dont want him to get it wrong like I’m rejecting him or something, so my questions to you are:
1. What should I say to convince my mom?
2. What should I tell him if I don’t convince her?
3. If you can find a different solution than please tell me))

To meet him in person then to know him better as you do, for then she would know that your safe going out with him. Going out with him for you should go together with a friend to be safe and then your mom should feel at ease!!!

double question about basic thermochemistry?
Hey guys, I’m a little confused about the solutions provided by my professors to two of these end of chapter questions about thermochemistry in my gen. chem 1 book:

When 155 mL of water at 26 degrees celsius is mixed with 75 mL of water at 85 degrees celsius, what is the final temperature? (Assume that no heat is lost to the surroundings; d of water = 1.00 g/ mL)

**The solution says "The heat lost by the water originally at 85 celsius is gained by the water at 26 celsius therefore -qlost = qgained. **

I don’t really understand how that is derived from the question, so if anyone could tell me and provide further tips to see how to use formulas like that instantly when reading, i’d appreciate it!

The other question states:
"Two iron bolts of equal mass one at 100 celsius and the other 55 celsius are placed in an insulated container. Assuming the heat capacity of the container is negligible, what is the final temperature inside the container? (c of iron = .450 J/gK)

**The solution says to just add the two temperatures and divide by 2. **
Not sure why that is?

I think that this guy may like me, but I'm not really sure. HELP!?
I work in a grocery store and the other day this guy came in. He went through my till and we were talking and everything it was cool. He came in a few days later and 2 tills were open. Mine had like 6 people in line and the other had 2, but he went to my line. We started talking about the movie "Orphan" because he was renting it and he told me when his birthday was and stuff.

He came in the next day and handed me the movie and then went a poked around the store a little. He came up to the till with milk and cereal. He’d bought milk and cereal the day before.

Then tonight my grandma and I went to the legion for a dinner and he was there! He kept looking at me from across the room and shooting me little smiles. So I shot him little grins back. He was then playing pool with his buddy and their cue ball came flying towards me at like mauch 4. I got out of my chair and went to hand it to his friend and he had like pushed his friend out of the way and took it from me.

I think that he likes me but I’m not really sure. The last guy that acted like this around me turned out to be quite a pervert!

Do survivalists tend to overlook the threat posed by arson?
I was thinking about this while hunting with one of my uncles. He is a self-described survivalist who lives in a cabin out in the woods.

Most of the threats he conceived of involved robbers or raiders. Which is to say, attacks that could be repelled with firearms.

But I’ve studied civil unrest and the history of warfare.

Actually, the single most common tool of war during times of unrest is arson.

So for instance, if you hole up in a cabin, your attackers won’t just line up and come at you directly, allowing you to shoot them.

They will probably set the entire forest on fire, thus burning you alive.

Unless you have a deep-ground fire shelter, you are finished. And unless your house is made of fireproof materials, it will burn.

Why do so many survivalists - particularly ones who live in wood cabins - seem to overlook this fact?

Think about it - if you were trying to attack a wooden fortification full of armed people, would you run at it and get shot?

Or would you start setting fires, using incendiary devices, and let nature do your work for you?
